  9. Tragic for the Poles who got sent to Siberia to work in Soviet munitions factories, but they have only their own political leadership to blame. Poland, rendered it seems permanently cuckoo by its Russophobia, rejected Stalin's offer of a defense alliance and chose to ally itself with Hitler, instead. And that despite knowing full well from Hitler's openly stated plans for a Holocaust of Slavs, made public in 1925.
