Strictly (and legally) speaking, the acceptance of these 4 regions -- and any other regions that decide to secede from Ukraine and (re-)join Russia -- into the Russian Federation is not an annexation, which is a unilateral proclamation of sovereignty over a territory made effective by actual possession. Had the regions not held their referenda first, one could speak of an annexation, but as it is, the term simply doesn't apply. I suspect that the real reason Alexander is using a term he knows has no legal application to the case is to placate YouTube and its censors. As for that command centre in Germany, I think all it will do is replace Ramstein Air Base as the meeting venue for NATO and its allies, who've until now used Ramstein for their monthly confabs about what and how much of what to give Ukraine from month to month.

The residents of Zaporozhye are trying to leave for Russian-held territory and are being prevented by the Ukrainian security services. Just the other day, Ukraine shelled a column of refugees trying to reach Russian-held areas, killing 30 civilians in that war crime.

I'm sorry for everyone in your particular predicament, but I don't have much compassion for the Europeans themselves. They voted their politicians into power and they've supinely accepted being ruled by an un-elected committee in Brussels while twittering self-righteously (and delusionally) about democracy and freedom. Nor have they taken to the streets in their tens of millions to demand the lifting of sanctions on Russia -- sanctions which they themselves know full well are the cause of their suffering -- and immediate peace talks between Kiev and Moscow.

@mmdurante1616 That's what you were made to believe by those who've been lying about Ukraine and this conflict all along. The independent journalists on the ground have been interviewing people there, and the eyewitnesses tell a completely different story than the one pushed by Kiev and it's Western sponsors.

People on the ground tell us otherwise, and thank goodness we have a number of independent Canadian, British, German, French, and American journalists reporting from there so we don't have to swallow whole the propaganda pushed on us by all our MSM.
