  9.  @gintasasd  The rest of the world really doesn't depend on trade with the West. And it's beginning to understand that. The West makes slightly less than 16% of the world's population, i.e. of the global market, and the global majority of some 84% can very comfortably trade among themselves as they already produce everything they need. China alone outproduces the US and the EU combined. Russia alone can feed half the world. India's also an agricultural giant. Etc. Times have changed.

  13.  @AiGeneratedWaluigi  Spain and Portugal, yes. Eastern Europe is not a part of the West and was never such historically. As for your question as to why it should matter who does the colonizing and who's colonized: West European countries colonized the non-Western world, syphoning out immense riches from it for over 500 years, a historical era that isn't over yet.
