Excellent point. It never ceases to amaze me that most analysts commenting on the accelerating move to multi-polarity leave out the KEY event that's triggered this: Russia's gutsy decision to take on the collective West in Ukraine and show up NATO for the paper tiger it is. All of China's first-class diplomatic successes of the last year are directly predicated on that. Russia's evident success vis a vis NATO has simply emboldened others to begin decoupling themselves from the exploitative, ever aggressive West.

Bound to happen, eventually.

Local people (smaller countries) need financing for their projects, and we all know how that goes when the IMF and/or the World Bank are involved. There's nothing exploitative about what China's doing in Africa or in the Belt and Road Initiative. I do agree, however, that the inequality that's been allowed to develop in China itself constitutes a serious problem and that China isn't doing nearly enough to counter or temper it.

Sorry, but Russia's stupendous rise under Putin owes exactly nothing to the US.

Hardly. What's so Christian about Bulgaria, Romania, the Balkan countries, Slovakia, the Czech Republic (Europe's pornography capital) or Poland? Mere dislike of the LGBTQ phenomenon does not equal Christian values or a Christian way of life. Germany's social welfare system, for example, is far more Christian in its guiding spirit than selective social conservatism is. I say selective because the public space in Eastern Europe (the newspapers, TV shows, popular music) are every bit as lasciviously vulgar as in the West.

South America, Asia, and Africa make up about 82% of the world's population. The collective West (Europe, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand) and its vassals in Asia (Japan, South Korea) make up the remaining 18%.

Only in the US can neoliberalism be confused with anything to do with the left. Everybody else knows that it's a right wing phenomenon and the economic doctrine as well as the ideology of the ruling class.
