My mom lived in east africa, she was one of the early settlers in the mountain region with many forests, there was this giant red wasp that was there that was the size of a person's full hand, she said when they sting you, you feel like you've died. Her grandpa also spoke of these eagles that would come and pick livestock away but were hunted down to extinction
