Sixty percent of deaths from firearms in the U.S. are suicides. In 2019, If we discount suicide that leaves approx. 24000 deaths. Much lower than auto deaths. If we include suicide then clearly suicide prevention is what is needed to be focused on if you are serious about this issue.

We have recently seen an uptick in CRIME involving guns. That is what needs to be looked at. Not the fact that we have guns. We've ALWAYS had them. You need to find out why there is an epidemic of CRIME.

  13.  @jamesl9371  We already do those things. HOWEVER, recently there has been a concerted effort with "no cash bail" in certain places, even involving guns. Where this has been implemented..take a look at crime stats before and after. Also look at gun fatalities before and after. This is only one of the reasons there has been such an increase in crime. Covid and it's ridiculous response from leadership is another. There are many more. These issues will not be addressed by those in power pushing this agenda. Why? Because "public health and safety" is not the actual goal.

  14.  @jamesl9371  Well, thats fine James. Where I live the crime is almost non existent. A small town in Pennsylvania. No shootings and EVERYONE has guns, and I mean EVERYONE. Everyone on my street has them. Guess what, we dont shoot at each other. If people having guns was the problem then why arent we all dead?
