@OldOneTooth The more you try to level the playing field the more unfair things become. People will ALWAYS have advantages and disadvantages based on various factors. You can't make everyone the same.

@samf.s.7731 I can understand why "legacy admissions" are a problem. I understand the argument against it and agree. However do you HAVE to bring race into every freaking argument you make? You already have a good argument. Don't do the race bait crap.

What exactly are you fighting back against? Most who agree with the Affirmative Action ruling agree that legacy admissions are wrong to. Who is your enemy here?

@moniqueloomis9772 ha ha. You just commented on another post of mine saying it's morally wrong to have "sides" and here you are pointing out the "enemy". Yes when I say "everyone who agrees...." doesn't mean that literally "everyone". It's a generality. I think you would find that most do however. If it REALLY bugs you that I said "everyone" I'll edit it.🙄

@dianacasey6002 ha ha...you just described entry on merit. You are NOT trying to make everyone the same like the other person was whining about. You just want all the tests to be the same. Which, by the way, they already are! Yeah, I have no problem with your solution. Good luck trying to convince the left that entrance exams aren't racist though.🙄
1
@dianacasey6002 I'm implying neither. Why? In case you missed it. I agreed with you.
1
@dianacasey6002 You want entrance exams to be the same for everyone. Correct? Well, they already are. As they should be. The left sees standardized testing as racist. THEY are the ones who say minorities can not pass them without help. Not me. I just wished you luck in trying to convince them they're wrong.

@ecurewitz the wealthy always have more opportunity ON PLANET EARTH, bonehead.
1
@OldOneTooth We have that already. In your edited version you suggest a random draw. Ooops but thats not fair either is it. You gotta fix the draw to suit your desired outcome. Thats not being very fair.

Why would it be rhetorical? I can answer as I'm one of those people. The answer is yes.

@BonBonWasHere111 If you look at the comments people on both sides are fine with preferential treatment. Just in different ways. Whats your point? I'm speaking for myself.
1
@BonBonWasHere111 Yes, sides. Are you blind? There are always "sides" on any social issue. Whether you want to live in reality or live in your own little world where people don't disagree is up to you.
1
@moniqueloomis9772 Yeah those aren't this one.🙄
1
@moniqueloomis9772 Doesn't matter if he sees it or not. My point is that there is. Like it or not. See it or not. There are 2 sides to literally every societal issue. There is not one that literally everyone sees it the same way. Not even murder. When speaking in terms of right and wrong there are even sides on that. What I see as morally wrong may not be what you see as morally wrong. Example....I see homosexuality as morally wrong. I'm guessing you do not? If you do I'm sure I can find another issue where we disagree on it's morality.
1
@moniqueloomis9772 How about abortion? I see that as morally wrong. Do you?
1
@mikeb5664 Good grief. Can ANY of you make a point without bringing race into it. Honestly, there is a good argument to END legacy admissions without even mention the race of the people involved. Damn.🙄
1
@samf.s.7731 Thats not the subject matter.
1
@samf.s.7731 It's not the subject matter. Race is the subject matter in literally everything you discuss. That's abnormal. And racist.
