  20. If you make a iron pot of soup or baked bean and let it cook slow on a wood stove it turns out amazing. Plus it's an easy start of learning to cook on that kind of stove. Plus you have something wonderful throughout the evening as you get hungry.

  44. With no TV, computers or phones a lot of what they use to do also helped the day go by. Somethings were entertaining like snaping beans or other cooking. And think of all the pride it brought.

  45. I love to collect historical cooking books and books with pictures of old inns and their recipes. Used book stores and library resales guarantee I can afford them. I recently snagged Historical Recipes of the White House 1887 Edition. Of cour😢se it was copywrited in 2009 but there are pictures of the first ladies and stories about their time in the White House. The book is thick and extremely heavy..
