@reddysteddy2195 These comments really don't matter that much to long term investors who'll be a lot of years in the market. This show is basically for traders.

@reddysteddy2195 Of course you should diversify into other equities as well and hold some cash but I have to disagree here. People have been talking about a recession and a following bubble burst and it's just not happening. Meanwhile they missed huge gains within the markets. I think the economic data is looking pretty healthy at the moment and a drawdown would probably be caused by some sort of exogenous event (NK, Iran, Russia...). Multiple expansion meanwhile is the product of no yield alternatives available, driven of course by central banks. Can't talk about a bubble because people still pick stocks and think of them as being too risky and expensive. I currently hedge my portfolio with a little gold, Swiss Francs and Bitcoin. And by the way, a industrial(!) recession has occures, for instance in Germany. But the service sector has not been hit and we're ok.

@reddysteddy2195 It just doesn't make sense to me to time the market at 21 yrs old and without the billions Buffett and the like have in the bank. I only invested 13k and 90% is in equities, 10% bitcoin...

@reddysteddy2195 As an economist, what's your stance on gold mining companies? Is it a good long term hedge?

@reddysteddy2195 There are two (I guesss) asset classes that I'm interested in lately. One being gold mines (happened to come across Newmont Mining, seems well managed) and art investing. I hope that one day there will be a stock market way of investing.
