  1. College has no way of determining supply/demand of occupations especially 10 years into the future. Therefore you get too many students chasing too few jobs.

  2. College does a poor job in matching peoples skills, abilities, personality, education, etc. to any potential career choice. Which then ends up with students completely clueless on what career field would suit them best therefore leading them to eventually just "pick" a major that might not be the best choice for them. Therefore you have increasing inefficiencies in our economy from a macroeconomic standpoint due to the fact that you have a mismatch of degree with that students characteristics of which career they would be best suited for. Trial and error in finding your niche takes place in the first 5 to 10 years of being an adult and going out into the workforce. But that doesn't happen when students spend 5-6 years chasing a degree that is completely the wrong choice for them.

  3. 7:20. . .formal schooling doesn't necessarily translate into someone becoming educated. Many/Most students try to memorize the subject matter in order to obtain a good grade on the test/class only to forget 90% of what they thought they might have learned by the time the next semester rolls around.
