@bothanjedirogue . . . believe it or not, Detroit had its highest population back in the 1940s; almost 2 million. Then you had the riots of 1943. That was the beginning of white flight. Then you had the riots of 1967 and white flight went on overdrive. Then corrupt Coleman Young became mayor and told whitey to get their butts over passed 8 mile road and that all but sealed Detroit's fate. They're trying to make a comeback with a lot of funds and investments from people like Dan Gilbert and the Illitch family. My concern is any other riot or large incident will set it all back.
