  10. Kim just said that college is necessary. She's wrong on that point. Kids are not learning that much in college. You can become educated without sitting in the classroom. You can educate yourself with a combination of on the job training/learning while working. Most people learn by working and doing something. Even most "white collar" jobs can be learned on the job. Her guest just called her out on the "education" mantra. Education and Accreditation IS NOT THE SAME.

If the students aren't getting an education good enough to find a job in order to pay back those student loans then why should that student be obligated to pay them back? The problem lies in what you said. The colleges have no incentive to reduce tuition, remove useless classes, require higher standards, etc. when the Federal Government is there to "help" families and students with financial aid/student loans. Have the colleges that admit students to be responsible for financing student loans and to hold the bag if a student files bankruptcy. I'll guarantee their standards for admission will increase, useless classes will be done away with, tuition will go down, etc. If a business down the street provides a bad product or krappy service they eventually will go out of business. They may even file bankruptcy. The same should hold true for colleges and students.
