@kevinjackson2361 This isn't a "plain English" thing; it requires math (e.g. geometry, trig, etc.) As long as you call it "geek bs" you'll never be able to understand anything about the world. After all, "geek bs" even makes it possible for you to type comments into your phone and post them to the world.

It's called sssscience? If you don't know how to code a ray tracer (I do), just use Blender to simulate the scene. Then you'll understand.

@kevinjackson2361 Yeah, that's not the same math. Take that from someone who's written commercial CG software (used in videos, movies, cartoons, etc.), someone with more than 3 decades of experience. And someone who's had experience working with some of the most accomplished scientists and engineers at Bell Labs backinnaday (late 80's - late 90's). In any case, you, as a mechanical engineer should understand that things that seem obvious don't always work in practice. HINT: get a can of beer, tip it 90 degrees, and look at your own reflection. Then move back... back... back.... You'll get it. You're much too smart to support a science-denier like Trump.

And then you want to mitigate those lies against the standard lying done by politicians??? Look, this is a no gaslighting zone. Ignoring his worst lies about the border, healthcare, infrastructure, J6, etc., let's just take this one: "crime rates are soaring!" Crime rates have be reducing significantly under Biden. This information is readily available. But Trump's supporters continue to believe otherwise simply because he said so. Cult.
