The Jan 6th committee's job isn't to "tie things together." They're making a case for creating new safeguards against another Trump. They're doing an excellent job in making that case.

MsBegum The Jan. 6th committee is within Congress, which makes laws, but isn't an enforcement body. It's DoJ who has the power to indict Trump'.

@ColinoDeani I agree with everything you said except for martial law. Those who attacked the Capitol would've been killed, plain and simple. Their bats, poles, and AR-15s would've been no match for our national guard (and strike force that would've been sent in to rout the out). Keep in mind, as you said, many of the people there didn't know they were part of a coup. Imagine how they'd have felt about it all if others started killing Pence and members of Congress, which was the plan. Imagine that playing out live, the rest of the country getting to see it. Public sentiment would've turned against them. Sharply.

@easternsuneasternsun171 You should learn a bit about how our government works, i.e. The Jan. 6th Committee will not and can not charge anyone with anything. They're laying the case for creating safeguards against another Trump. The DoJ, however, will be charging Trump with various charges, but Georgia's gonna get him first.

@williamwofford2503 So, you're saying that Flynn had a private army that was going to overthrow the government? Then you should testify before the Jan 6th Committee if you have proof of this. Otherwise....
