  11. Capitalism provides the illusion that average citizens can gain great wealth through their own efforts. Democracy provides the illusion that individuals alone have political power. Sure, some individuals achieve these things, but the vast majority of the people do not... which is a requirement for a society to continue to appear functional. Cynical? Maybe. But it is what it is.

  12. Yep. We were separated at birth, Dave. I'm sure I'd already mentioned to you that for a number of years I've been deving an OS for creators. I originally came up with the idea in ~2002-03 and have been evolving it since. It was refreshing to come across your channel a while back; I feel I've been on the right track all this time every time i watch your vids, especially when you present a name for these concepts. It's validating. Thanx, m'man, for creating such a fantastic channel.

  14. So much of what you've presented here is directly in line with my own views, especially with regards to the batsh!t absurdity that space mining will create great wealth for all. If I were to launch a space-centric company, I'd send an army of headhunters after you. That's the best compliment I can give👍 EDIT: LOL! I made that comment before I reached the end of the video.   16. I'll admit to having been a bit worried that my platform doesn't support Gitflow. Not because I think my platform needs it but because too many developers swear by Gitflow, so it'd be an added task to get them to see the world differently. However, I plowed ahead with what works for my CD model. Gitflow worshipers be damned. So, this video is has been yet another validation for me. Thanx again, Dave!

If you run the numbers on the size of the workforce, the average salary, taxes, and expenses on said workforce, then factor in the projected number of jobs lost due to Optimus (should it actually work), it becomes blatantly clear just how batsh!t insane Musk is. But the supposedly knowledgeable financiers/investors who sit through these reports and take them seriously are so much worse.

  24. I do appreciate the deep dives of that book and your analysis of it. I've no degrees or experience in these subjects, but I do have a fundamental understanding that the revolution will not come... as long as people are only annoyed enough to complain, too attached to their relative comfort to take action. Unfortunately, democratic elections create the stagnating force with such an electorally divided country, generating exciting for the now with a win, and hope for tomorrow as the handwringing over losses play out and the search for a new populist avatar ensues. Rinse and repeat. So, these labels and analyses are great for discussion and for "street" cred, but won't move the econo-sociopolitical needles necessary for change. However, I do believe that there's a way to create a tectonic shift that doesn't require revolution or taking from any group, and can create a smooth transition to something much... better. I've been working on it for a number of years, but, since I am a layperson, I'll reveal it not as just a theory (since I have no credentials) but with practice. I'll alert you privately when the launch date nears. Until then, SUBSCRIBED

  25.  @Go-Meta  Then I will count you as an early skeptic😁 We are in sync on so much (even our views on AI), and while we both agree on the need for democracy, we most definitely diverge on the idea of "power" and it's wielding, and the limits of our current form of democracy. But I should be more tight-lipped until I've amassed some actual metrics (i.e. "credible picture"). If I'm wrong, I will admit it, tho... reluctantly😅
