  6. When we got our peacocks as chicks, our cat was TERRIFIED! He hunts birds, which is why we keep him indoors during fledging reason, and we think he tried to yeet a turkey baby once and got his ass handed to him. Peacock chicks (peachicks) look a LOT like turkey chicks. They are distant cousins.

  7. I live in coyote country (and mountain lion country) and have both cats and peafowl (peacocks and peahens). Gotta say, I respect them, but don't hate them. Oh, and I grew up on Looney Tunes and plenty of books, some of which were Mark Twain. Just goes to show, the hate isn't guaranteed. My neighbor's retriever that scared off my beloved peahen (who never returned, RIP Raja) was following HIS instincts, if I don't hate him, how could I hate coyotes, who haven't ever bothered us? Nature is gonna nature.

  9. Fantail Darter fish males (along with other Darter species, but not all) also take good care of the eggs laid by the opportunistic (for want of a better term) females. They are small freshwater fish of the perch family, found in No Am. I have many of these interesting beasties in my local streams and rivers in Northern Virginia.

After watching a good subset of your content, I'm happy to have subbed...and noticed that you, while always holding that mic, have surprisingly excellent sound quality....it's almost like that visible Mic is largely a prop. If so, you are well beyond needing such props, and your content speaks for itself.
