@CurrentlyVince tell me you’ve never been to Sky Harbor without telling me you’ve never been to Sky Harbor

@emallace447 I find those giant boxes appalling. The attempts at mixed use business on the ground floor of them is largely a failure as those business rarely provide any essential services for the people who live in those buildings and don’t pay enough for the people who work at them to live in those buildings. Mostly on these mixed used bottom levels I see for rent signs and the old signs of the businesses that quickly failed in those locations. Also, those boxy buildings are mostly being built poorly with low cost wood frame construction and I don’t expect them to age well. Every time I see another one going up I imagine how easily a fire would quickly devastate one, and feel that I’m probably looking at the future slums of the 2040s.

@neutrino78x as if voting Biden has worked out well for anyone.
3
@aristeon5908 I agree, although living in Phoenix my issue is exactly the opposite: it's entirely too hot to ride a bike in the daytime half the year. I'm not down to arrive places stinky and sweaty, or risk heat stroke getting there
3
This video conveniently leaves out that I-35 is an international shipping route.
3
@mike140298 I love living next to freeways. It allows me to be able to drive to other places quickly because I can jump right on the freeway without having to mess with much surface street traffic.

The mob controlled taxi union is a very strong force in Vegas. Visitors having no need for a taxi is unacceptable.
2
@mattmunn71 as would I.
2
@gregcarlson6012 funny you would call me a Marxist. Do you know who I am at all?!? I’m Libertarian as fuck.
2
@gregcarlson6012 I never said I did. You ain’t much for payin’ attention, is ya’?
2
@hydrolito Why?
2
@IHateMyAccountName How much is enough?
2
@daveotuwa5596 to not be subject to the laws and taxation of the country and state they're currently located in and have complete and total control of their own government. Although the US is so deep into cronyism that it's arguable they already have that now.
2
That’s how I-10 is through downtown Phoenix and it’s really nice.
2
Denver really tucked up by closing instead of expanding Stapleton. That was a very conveniently located airport.
2
Nope. And if you’re a lower income laborer, more likely than not a large portion of your income, 25% or more, goes into the expense for your car in order to make that commute.
2
Yep. These anti-car channels seems to not understand how goods get to and from their cities.
2
@CityBeautiful are you aware Vegas already tried BRT and shut it down nearly two years ago?
2
That’s because you’re supposed to stay inside the casino megaplexes. If you want to rest, go inside and sit yourself at a table or machine. And if you don’t have money for that, take your broke ass home.
2
Robert Roesch it May as well be

@enjoyslearningandtravel7957 there doesn't seem to be any homeless in Hillsboro or Beaverton. They're pretty much all over in Portland, although for the most part they stay in their tents and leave people who are walking alone. Check out my vlogs from about a month ago for a realistic unedited look at what it's like walking in Portland as well as Beaverton and Tigard. I spent five days there getting around without a car while spending the nights in Beaverton.
2
Yep. Meth.
2
Yep. This video is a pipe dream. The success of this rail will completely rely on it’s car accessibility.
2
I don’t know anybody who wants to take public transportation
2
The only Texans who don’t drive are the homeless and disabled.
2
I can’t imagine why he’d suggest moving it.
2
It's essentially welfare for the extra wealthy at the expense of the middle class.
2
How would pedestrians, cyclists and electric scooters fit into this? It seems to me that it would be better for people to use their real intelligence rather than submitting to robot overlords
2
He does have plenty of other videos on that subject
2
@hotdogstandman last time I went to Vegas was about two months ago and I couldn’t even find the damn thing
2
I’m pretty sure this is the law in the US, but I’d be willing to bet that less than half of licensed drivers know it.
2
@NachDeaDSilenT it’s the only solution that over 90% of Texans are willing to accept, though.
2
Asian Street Scenes I live in Phoenix where all the infrastructure is geared almost completely for cars. I’m often on an electric scooter, so like you I just go when I can and exercise extreme caution
2
You completely left out how employees are supposed to get to all these logistics centers that are intentionally detached from residential areas. So much for walkable mixed use allowing people to walk to work. I guess that's a luxury only white collar office workers deserve.
2
@pawsindmeinlieblingsfach3518 only increases rent by 10%? In the real world it's usually a much greater increase than that. In fact, usually the way I've seen it play out is the landlord terminates all existing residents at the end of their lease, and then renovates the property into "luxury apartments" and then chargers twice as much for them to new residents after the renovation. Welcome to gentrification.
2
Also keeps the pedestrians, who are mostly drunk and high, out of the street.
2
I would say the root problem is Americans being too soft and lazy to walk just over a half mile.
2
Shhh… Don’t go throwing facts at this anti-car propaganda
2
@AlCatSplat perhaps not, but many places have solved their congestion problems by building additional highways and roads.
2
@disposabull It could be argued that's a problem caused by inadequate roadways and a lack of accessable car parking.
2
@disposabull Yes, my city does sprawl over a massive area, but our traffic doesn't move slowly most of the time. I'm able to drive to work across town in under 20 minutes, and most of our highways flow at 80mph. Most of our streets move at 40mph or faster with synchronized traffic lights so no one is stuck in traffic. Grocery store is a 15 minute walk or 5 minute drive, with ample parking directly in front. But biking anywhere here, even short distances, is asking to potentially die from heat stroke.
2
Ugh... how the hell are you supposed to drive to these places?
2
John Simun only stupid people are confused by roundabouts.
2
I expect your parents, like most adults with a car, have no desire to walk anywhere ever.
2
Major Chungus this is a fact that no videos on the subject are willing to address
2
There used to be weekly rental rooms like that in Phoenix. The city used eminent domain laws to make them all go away.
2
I used transit exclusively in Portland for five days when I was there about a month ago. I used the Max much more than the busses mostly because it was difficult to figure out where the busses went and when. I didn't bike, but I did walk and use Lime scooters a lot
2
@texaswunderkind The more I read and learn about that road the more I appreciate ADOT and living in Arizona. Our freeways are pretty damn good here, and are all freeways; no toll roads.
2
gimroth why should humans submit to robot overlords? I think a better model would be if all vehicles were engineered like bumper cars.
1
Apparently hacked pipelines will kill gas stations
