We have Chinese foreigners buying American land, homes, & businesses, while an American has no chance of buying property or opening up a business in China to take advantage of the increasing spending power of their citizens. America continues to outsource its manufacturing jobs and China continues to be the manufacturing leader of the world. And even with a much lesser population, America reigns in incarcerating its citizens from nonviolent pettiness to psycho murderers. In China, it's your responsibility not to get scammed or be coerced into buying a cheap knock-off. And there's no health inspector to tell you if a restaurant is compliant with its sanitation practices so better have your anti-diarrhea meds with you readily. So, no. America is nowhere near China.
