@Abhishek-sr2pu the difference is are the kids doing well academically? if they are, it may not be this bad. also, everyone is different in how they react and not all parents are strict in the same way. some parents hire tutors to help their children become better academically while others verbally and/or physically abuse and threaten to throw their child out into the streets empty-handed. violence is learned.

@redark3165 Sarah is correct. we dont know the extent of her abuse — we are not privy to that information. if the parents were willing to throw her out to fend for herself with no support whatsoever, that definitely put her in a corner. as we can all see, she isnt very smart so neither choices were reasonable: she knows she cant academically fulfill her parents’ expectations and she is so consumed by her parents expectations that she has had no other aspirations. abusers are great at making their victims dependent on them. my parents were extremely abusive — my mom tried to murder me at least two times, but even then, when i was struggling, they opened their door for me and let me leech off of them. (by leech, i mean work for them so i dont have to pay rent). thats the only reason why murder was never an option. that plus i dont want to go to prison over my parents. theyre not worth it. understanding the circumstances of her situation, i can see why she thought this was a good idea. if she had been a little smarter, she might have realized she would get caught and cancelled the plan. maybe she’s happier now in prison.
