  1. baldoni purchased the rights to colleen hoover's book "it ends with us" back in 2018 i think. he wrote the script and after securing funding for it, looked for actors to play the parts. lively got the lead role. while they were shooting the film, they both butted heads. according to lively, baldoni was being inappropriate. according to baldoni, lively was being a bully and her husband ryan reynolds was on set and rewriting the script. eventually, when the film came out, sony released lively's cut instead of baldoni's cut, even tho he is the director and his version tested better with audience. baldoni also couldnt attend his own movie premiere. during the press tour for the movie, lively avoided talking about dv, which was a major part of the story. she received backlash from the public for trying to market the movie as a lighthearted romcom. she also received backlash for promoting her own line of products (haircare, alcohol) when asked about the movie. after this, the new york times came out with an article that painted baldoni as the mastermind of the bad press, that he orchestrated a smear campaign against her. baldoni was then dropped from his agency as a result of this article. his lawyer released text messages to counter the claims in the nyt article to show that they cherry picked or manipulated some text messages to make baldoni look bad. there are videos explaining the lawsuits and the evidence.
