  14. there is something called inflation. the value of the dollar has decreased over the years. meaning, $1 in 1989 is worth more than $1 in 2019. so when we adjust it to your simple $1/hr and $3/month rent, the actual wage you're suggesting is over $360/hr to meet the current average living cost in america.
