  4. I gave up on the Democratic Party when Clinton introduced his “Rainbow Cabinet” and they were ALL lawyers. Of course, they disappeared from the news after they were introduced. Unfortunately, we elect the government we deserve, and voters still look at someone’s race and gender, rather than their education background. Harris does have a well-educated background, but everyone — including and perhaps especially the Democratic Party — treats here like a checklist of token boxes. Anyone else here remember Condoleezza Rice and Colin Powell? I guess because they were Republican — and were more than token figureheads — they didn’t count as “black” for the Democratic Party.
