  1. I write reviews of hobby stuff in return for free stuff. Customers get more info about a product, small companies get advertising, I save a little post-tax money. It’s hardly “passive income” (I’m a landlord, and that’s hardly passive, either!), but I help out small companies I believe in, hobbyists find out more about a product than typical advertising, these companies get low-cost advertising that’s permanently available on the ‘net, and I get something I might not have bought for my hobby fix.
