  1. Banks are a scam even without scams. You don’t need a bank when you have a credit union, and you don’t need an ATM card when you have a credit card. You should also have at least two accounts for your money, at different institutions. One account is for “public” use (eg. Checks, credit cards) with a low balance (eg. A week or month’s worth of spending). The other has the bulk of your money. Use mobile banking to write checks from one account to the other.
