  1. Costco reduces shoplifting with their membership cards. Also, Hawaii has reduced catalytic converter theft by requiring those selling converters to fill out paperwork requiring their personal information (yes, that actually works). Many retail stores have an optional membership program, anyway, so, if it’s between a cage that needs to be unlocked, or showing a card at the entrance, I guess I’m fine with the latter. And a physical card may promote these existing membership programs, anyway! :/
