  1. US car companies early bought out private companies offering public transportation, essentially killing the industry just so they could sell cars. And now we’re giving them taxpayer money (again) just so they can sell us cars that are supposedly environmentally friendly, when we could have had solutions like pedestrian-friendly residential areas or public transportation (hopefully without crime…).
