  2. I‘m afraid that our golden will be stolen more than anything else in our yard. Heck, the goldie ran out, we didn’t notice, and she was found THREE MILES away. Folks don‘t mess around with you if you’re walking the dog, but don‘t think they will protect your home if they’re not trained! Hope the dog is alright. You can replace a bike, not a family member.

  3. Very much this. Many trades are useful around the house, saving you money with both DIY and familiarity with “how it’s done”. Not that it’s easy to run your own business, but you can do that more easily as a trade, than even a white-collar job.

  4. @h: Fast food places don’t have to run at all hours, and 24/7 businesses could always reduce hours to stay in business. Non-fast food restaurants already have lunch and dinner hours, closing between those time periods.

The “mom and pops” are more interested in preserving capital, except that, thanks to Prop 19, you’ve made it less likely the next generation of “mom and pops” will find rental properties worth holding. Here come the corporations.

  10. Yep. Supply chain issues from Covid and the current administration have led to inflation, resulting in shrinkflation and various forms of cost-cutting, including, I’m sure, lower quality of food.
