  1. 1) Wasn‘t one of the major reasons for China’s BRI was that China knew these countries would default, and China would then take their country‘s resources and strategic locations? (Of course, that was years ago, when we and China thought China had money…) 2) The BRI is also an extension of CCP’s obsession with tofu dreg infrastructure projects, except that the BRI tofu dregs are exported, and the CCP “loans” money to these countries. But, like domestic tofu dregs, Chinese businesses, Chinese workers, the Chinese GDP, and Chinese kickbacks, are the ones receiving the money. (Okay, corrupt local officials of loanee countries get their share, too.)

It’s about the three Hamas billionaires living in (now expelled from) Qatar, having redirected foreign aid to Palestine into their own pockets.

  8. I’ve seen Russian airplane crashes. Not happening all that often, though this doesn’t mean Russia’s running out of planes. Anyway, a crash in Crimea was seen even at the beaches, with smartphones recording. No panic on the beaches, just people watching. I think any lost airplanes are more of a budget and training problem, over a public reaction one.

  9. Venezuela has one of the largest oil deposits in the world. Yet they‘ve struck Dutch Disease and has one of the worse economies and governments. If the Venezuelan government was properly run, they wouldn’t have to resort to saber-rattling.

  15. Something is definitely changing — Ukraine’s attacks on Russia’s oil infrastructure. The west has been foot-dragging on weapons, so Ukraine’s going after Russia’s lifeblood, oil. Historically, even small changes in oil supplies have had a global effect, and my tinfoil hat suspects that Ukraine had a deal with the west to not attack oil infrastructure, because the west still wants its oil. Perhaps the sanctions means that this loss of Russian oil won’t affect the west as much. We’ll see.

  17. Chinese businesses are opening manufacturing centers in Mexico, to avoid US tariffs. Good move, considering that the Red Sea attacks are affecting EU - China trade. The US military is cutting back on protecting all trade waterways, and focusing on regional — including Mexico.
