  9. Now, I’m curious about Taiwan’s building codes. I was there decades ago, so I expect they’ve improved. But my relatives there told me of buildings made with empty food containers used instead of reinforced steel.

  10. After the 2020 Census, California lost a seat in the House — which has a Republican minor majority — because residents and businesses left, to similarly voting areas, namely Republican ones. (NY also flipped three blue seats to red.) Crime and inflation were the two most important issues to Republicans during the 2020 midterms. If the Democratic Party stays soft on crime (and BOTH parties stop their extremists), the Democrats will continue to lose control in 2024.

  11. Promises, promises. Retailer get into more trouble when they try to stop criminals themselves, so it‘s less expensive to allow theft. This means higher prices passed onto customers, if not businesses leaving for lower cost areas. Why do you think both businesses and residents are leaving SF? When will the left treat law-obeying citizens better than criminals?

  14. For those few who are part of a family business, take the family business. Customers don‘t care about your degree, and your parents aren’t any worse bosses (unfortunately) than the suits you‘d work for through college. The money you didn’t spend for loans will better serve you in the market for your retirement. And you can work as long as you want, at the hours you want, in retirement. Even if you fail, your experience working in a small business will help you stand out in an interview (but you‘ll still need some sort of college degree). Good luck — there are no guarantees in the job market.

  15. Thanks to liberals soft on crime, we have businesses leaving, resulting in not just loss of tax revenue, but job losses as well. But I’m sure all you have to do is raise minimum wage to take care of that, right??

  16. California has been driving out not only home insurance companies, but health insurance as well. Keep working for those group insurance health “benefits”, middle class.
