  1. We can still use concrete for non-residential use, such as industrial areas and garages. The dog had the coolest room in the house — she slept the garage!

California, which you’d think is a state dedicated to conservation of native plants, is over 98% invasive plant species, and that was forty years ago, when I was working on an invasive plant species project. (Of course, when you’re tearing up land for development and planting different plants, you lose native wildlife…).

  3. You don‘t even have to redesign your house! Have your insulation inspected if you’re not doing so already. Use thermal curtains to block out sun during the summer, and keep heat in during winter. But when you do remodel your home or build a new one, do your research and make it heat and cool efficient!
