Comments by "" (@advancetotabletop5328) on "US Announces Multinational Naval Force To Combat Houthi Attacks In Red Sea" video.
“Today's shortest sea route between Southeast Asia and Europe, the Suez Canal carries 12 percent of global trade. “Petroleum exports from Persian Gulf countries, such as Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Iran, accounted for 85% of Suez Canal northbound traffic. “ While the common perception is that oil transiting through the canal is largely made up of crude from Middle Eastern headed to Europe or North America, in reality the majority of the oil traveling through the canal is now headed in the opposite direction to feed Asia’s burgeoning economies. Sure looks like countries besides the USA rely on the area more than we do.

@H: The USA is sick and tired of being criticized as the “world‘s police” and USA taxpayers don’t want to pay the bill to protect the waterways so countries like China can have safe harbor. USA is still protecting regional interests, such as South American trade waters. If you want to protect Chinese commerce, go ahead and have your country do it.

Well, it‘s pretty much water there, so… :P

You and ten others support those who chant “Death to the USA”, then?

SA is the country whose military has the best technology and the least training. :P

Agreed. See Peter Zeihan‘s comments about ME oil. The USA doesn‘t need ME oil, and has been protecting ally oil interests. I say let EU and China send in their warships instead of relying on the USA all the time.
