My own tinfoil hat guess why the West hasn’t allowed use of Western weapons on Russian soil isn’t nukes, it’s oil. Even while the USA was becoming energy-independent, it fought in the ME because ‘greener than thou” EU was still dependent on foreign oil. Germany’s continued dependent on Russia oil prior to the war, despite all the Russian flags, shows that the West has its self-interests, too.
