  1. Our vet recommended yunnan baiyao for our dog’s anemia, and it’s a popular medicine for certain conditions in dogs. With a little searching, I find out it’s used for… gunshot wounds. And it’s a ‘proprietary’ combination of herbs whose composition has not been released — and, yes, counterfeit by is.a problem. The dog is doing fine, but I have to keep telling my parents who think they should keep some of it that they’re only going to need it when they get gunshot wounds, which I hope won’t be any time soon. :P

  3. @Mason: Agreed. I’m glad we’re out of the ME, because no one there deserves our support. (Iran’s even fighting the Taliban over water. ) I’m for Ukraine, but that’s because I’m against Russia’s bullying behavior against the little guy. If it were China vs. India, I’d stay neutral, like they’re doing now in the Ukrainian war.

I hear Chinese construction companies also use substandard materials because they also get paid to repair their construction! Of course, we have “extended warranties” in the USA, so… :D BTW, Thanks to CCP ties to infrastructure companies, while China has progressed from an Agrarian to an Industrialized country, corrupt CCP officials owning industry have prevented the transition from Industrialized to Service. With an Industrialized nation, businesses get the money, and spend it on infrastructure (unnecessary tofu dreg infrastructure in China). With a Service economy, consumers get the money to create a domestic economy. As a result of not having a domestic economy, China relies on exports which, as the Covid and Houthi shipping crises show, was a case of “everything is fine until it isn‘t”. Not only are foreign consumers paying higher prices for shoddy Chinese product, but China’s realizing how much they depend on the West, despite the saber-rattling. I may not like Chinese goods, but, through the war on Ukraine, I‘m recognizing how trade with China is actually control over them. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
