  16. @j : I’ll add that, thanks to deforesting of trees on mountain topsoil, China silted up its rivers and valuable farmland. Now, they’re doubling down so they can try to plant more rice. I’ll pick environment mismanagement over climate change any day to explain these ecological train wrecks.
