Not as well, but they're fine in Scandinavia where the infrastructure is better.

@turbonerd3075 🥱🥱"If the cold was as big of a deal as many people claim, the markets for EVs in Scandinavia would have crumbled. Instead, EVs are thriving."

@therealBocaStudios Diesels also struggle in cold weather...
4
@therealBocaStudios "Last year, 80 percent of new-car sales in Norway were electric"
4
This is part of why we needed the infrastructure bill. To build a better system for EVs, like Scandinavia has.

Anne.B-vz9xk Balnis says what?
3
@therealBocaStudios "Sweden is building the world's first permanent electrified road for EVs to charge while driving"
3
@Kill-The-Architect187 Yeah. I agree. That said, we should have the infrastructure for EVs in higher-density areas.

Scandinavia does great.
2
@Stoich827 I'm Swedish now?

@Stoich827 EVs are great for short distances. They make perfect sense for normal commutes and companies who know how far the vehicles will go everyday.
2
@elderlymanpoormemorybullseye Odd. EVs work great for Scandinavia...
2
@angeluceta5688 Wow! You're saying that new technologies have created a better way for diesels to handle the cold? That could never happen with any other type of vehicle....
2
Better in the cold than diesel...
1
Fun fact: You also have to winterize diesel cars.

@stevehall2221 Wow! You're saying that new technologies have created a better way for diesels to handle the cold? That could never happen with any other type of vehicle....
1
Not really. They're fine in Scandinavia...
1
@Kill-The-Architect187 Sure. No reason not to do it for higher-density areas though.
1
Odd. EVs in Scandanavia seems to be fine...
1
@Stoich827 That said, if I'm going long distance, I would rather rent an ICE vehicle (I rarely go long distance). I think we need better infrastructure and/or exchangable batteries. (There are companies in Southeast Asia that do this for E-Bikes.)

@douglaswalters7920 Wow! So what you're saying is that new technologies have created a better way for diesels to handle the cold? That could never happen with any other type of vehicle....

@dobermanguy9437 95.1 percent of trips taken in personal vehicles are less than 31 miles; almost 60 percent of all trips are less than 6 miles. In total, the average U.S. driver only covers about 37 miles per day.

You're right, they're the future.

No one is.
