Senate Republicans on Sunday blocked a $35 monthly cap on the cost of insulin in the private market from being included in Democrats' economic tax and spending package, voting down an amendment to the measure during a marathon session leading up to what Democrats hope will be final passage of the bill.

Republican senators on Sunday voted down a cap on the price of insulin in the private market, removing it from Democrats' sweeping climate and economic package. Democrats had tried to preserve the provision to cap insulin costs at $35 for private insurers, but that vote failed 57-43, with seven Republicans voting with them to keep the insulin cost cap in the bill, three short of what was needed.

Yeah, why don't the Republicans talk about all the good things in the bill?
2
@im2tweaked Oh! Your middle name is Burton. Thanks! I'll remember that. Please, what "simple thing" did you do to prove it? Buy an old account from your buddy. Get out of here Balnis.

@stevencorey1278 Affordable Care Act should have done more, but it didn't. So, let's keep working on health care. Right?
2
@im2tweaked No. They Republicans couldn't block the $35 cap for medicare patients, they could block a $35 cap for the private sector. So they did. Why? Seriously, why can't you guys understand this? I thought this was simple.

"Buy Votes" a cute term for: A politician doing what we want them to.
1
@janetmartin9372 No, you don't understand. Dems are passing a bill. People can make changes. Republicans specifically took out the insulin price cap. They didn't block the bill, they just removed that specific part of it, because they could.
1
Rip Cord Sure, maybe they'll try, but understand: The Democrats are passing a bill. The Republicans specifically took away the insulin cap. The Republicans didn't block the entire bill. They specifically removed this part. Why?
1
@stevencorey1278 The infrastructure bill did a lot. So many Republicans brag about infrastructure projects (even though they voted against it).

@im2tweaked Oh, John. Here's a quote from your buddy: “I’ve known Jeff [Epstein] for fifteen years. Terrific guy. He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it — Jeffrey enjoys his social life.” - Trump

Ree more. Big win for Brandon!

@swampfox5660 Also, they voted for the veterans bill, because people saw their political stunt was hurting veterans and people got angry. Except for you sheep, everyone saw it was a political stunt. The money was made to be mandatory spending so that the veterans bill couldn't simply be defunded.

@im2tweaked I believe the lady doth protest too much.

@im2tweaked I could look at your account, but I honestly don't care about you, John. Have fun with all of your accounts.
1
@im2tweaked You wear a fedora too. Wow, you're something else.
1
@im2tweaked Well, as fun as this was, I don't want to spend my whole day watching you ree and cry. So, bring me an actual arguement or I have better things to do.

@extremelycareless2541 It was not fully implemented before it was rescinded and experts said any impact was expected to be minimal. The Biden administration argued that the rule would have created additional administrative work and resulted in reduced resources at such centers. Cubanski said it “wouldn’t have done anything to lower insulin prices across the board for the vast majority of insulin users.” [S]uch centers “are already required to provide products and services at low or no cost to most of their patients.”
1
@swampfox5660 They specifically blocked a cap on insulin prices. It was a part of the bill they could block, so they did.
1
@im2tweaked Oh, Balnis. Do you still support Roy Moore, too?

@TheNextGenius 15% minimum tax rate for billion dollar companies? Allowing Medicare to negotiate for prescription drug prices. IRS Tax Enforcement so that rich people don't cheat. Oh, and REDUCES THE DEFICIT.

@JoeyAgzBDA Cute that you can't articulate an argument against the bill.

@eric kanter Because of the good things in the bill?
