  3.  @matthewchick8908  Yeah. Different states are... Different. And they have different infrastructure and rules. Some states allow for late ballots, if they were post-marked on that day. Some states are almost totally all mail in ballots, like in Colorado. It's different between the states.

  9. But some states allow late ballots if they were post-marked by the date. Also, they allow time for millitary ballots. And they allow people to cure their ballots.

  10.  @SteamvilleQuintet  Actually, Florida allows military ballots 10 extra days to be recieved. You just don't notice/care, because there aren't enough to affect the race. So, the race can be projected even before all counting ends.

  13. Yes. It's called a projection. It's a simple prediction done by news organizations. It's not official. So, when everything looks like they expected and the race won't be close, the news organizations predict the outcome quickly. That's why they can project(predict) the winner of places like DC or Alabama within seconds. Unless they see something unexpected, it's easy to predict.

  19. Florida allows military ballots to be recieved 10 days after the elections. So, no. They don't finish counting in one day.

  21.  @matthewchick8908  Some states don't allow pre-processing of mail in ballots to make counting faster. Like in PA, where the Republicans fought it to make the counting process slower, why would they do that?
