  1. The conventional wisdom is that for a government to perform well there must be opposition party or parties. Is this the reality. . A government which has to compete for reelection has only 4 or 5 years mandate. In this short time, the ministers need to make the most to fill their pockets. Reelection is not their no. 1 priority. China government the CPC too has an opposion, the most FORMIDABLE you can imagine in the world. An opposition determined to destroy both the CPC and China. The CPC has no choice but to perform at an A+ level. This opposition is the USA.As you said you more the US try to contain China, the more China will be self reliant.
