Were there people in Shanghai living in slums like in Bombay today. Were there households in 2007 China without toilets, without running water, without sewage connection.   12. The world of manufacturing industry is not just about smartphone, EV cars or Chips manufacturing. I dropped at a hardware shop and tried to find any item made in India. Other than plastic buckets, I found nothing made in India. Garden tools, woodwork, window, curtain accessories,home lightings, electrical, plumbing parts ect. In every sector Made in China is there.

All househokds have toilets and connected to sewage system. High speed rail was already a reality. The first tiers cities already had awesome infrastructure. They were clean and safe. By 2007, China already sent men in space several times. In 2007, China was confident they can organize something great for the 2008 Olympics. Sorry India has none of these attributes.
