  1. Modi only have to stage more incidents on the China border. Then America will think that they can use India as a pawn against China in a proxy war. In this way, US will not sanction India on the Russian Oil issue.

  2. It's thanks to China that India is benefitting cheap Russian Oil. If China did not buy the discounted Russian Oil, there is no way India have the guts to do it. Now if US sanction India on this issue, India can reply: What about China (as a crybaby)
