  1. Applying for a permanent seat at the UNSC is out of reach for India. Why India don't publicly apply to join the G7 to become G8. Russia was in G8 until Crimea issue. The US, France, UK pretend they support India membership in UNSC. Most likely they "support" India because they know China will veto. So if these 3 countries really care about India status, let India become the 8th member of G8.
