At that time US were very happy and rewarded China by lifting completely the trade embargo making China a NORMAL trade partner. It is from this NORMAL trade status that China attracted Western investment and trade. This NORMAL status India enjoyed since 1947. What India is looking from US now is PRIVILEGES from US.
