  6. NATO never stated it would not enlarge Eastward. Such an agreement was never made. NATO’s door has been open to new members since it was founded in 1949. This has never changed. No treaty signed by NATO Allies and Russia included provisions on NATO membership. Decisions on NATO membership are taken by consensus among all Allies. Russia does not have a veto. The idea of NATO enlargement beyond a united Germany was not on the agenda in 1989, particularly as the Warsaw Pact still existed until 1991. Mikhail Gorbachev said in an interview in 2014: "The topic of 'NATO expansion' was not discussed at all, and it wasn't brought up in those years. I say this with full responsibility. Not a single Eastern European country raised the issue, not even after the Warsaw Pact ceased to exist in 1991. Western leaders didn't bring it up either." Individual Allies cannot make agreements on NATO’s behalf. President Clinton consistently refused Boris Yeltsin's offer to commit that no former Soviet Republics would join NATO: "I can't make commitments on behalf of NATO, and I'm not going to be in the position myself of vetoing NATO expansion with respect to any country, much less letting you or anyone else do so… NATO operates by consensus," he said. The wording “NATO expansion” is already part of the myth. NATO did not hunt for new members or want to “expand eastward.” NATO respects every nation’s right to choose its own path. NATO membership is a decision for NATO Allies and those countries who wish to join alone. Russia is terrorising sovereign Nations and they run to NATO for safety.

  18. Great to note the crowd at Navalny’s funeral chanting pro Ukrainian slogans. But it’s time for Navalny’s widow to stand up in support of Ukraine also. She has not mentioned Ukraine in her speeches. Perhaps this was out of loyalty to her husband during her time of bereavement.   48.  @AndrewBlucher I honestly don’t get your point. Everyone there is bereaved by Navalny’s loss, still they chant in support of Ukraine. She has taken part in several interviews and made a speech to the European Parliament all whilst being newly widowed. Not once has she mentioned Ukraine. My question is why not? I’m not making a go at her as your comment suggested. I’m just hoping she will ‘come out’ and support Ukraine 🇺🇦 😊

  50. Everyone ultimately wants peace, absolutely everyone! But certainly not at the expense of the inspirational Ukrainian people who have suffered immensely at the hands of the invaders. Nobody gets to sit around a negotiation table until Zelensky says so, it's his call and nobody else's. This needs to be fully understood. This order from the commander and chief of Ukraine will not come until such a time as he is 'fully' satisfied that his people are in a powerful position to negotiate from. There will be no cowardly sellout of Ukrainian territory under any circumstances whatsoever, and rightly so. Russia must, and will leave all of the territory it illegally annexed since its invasion on Feb 24th, 2022. The brave Ukrainian people who died in this Russian war of choice, will not have done so in vain. Period. Make no mistake, Russian occupants will be leaving Ukrainian Crimea also, and the Kerch Bridge will be destroyed behind them, forever! This will be the outcome, or there will be no peace. Russia will not be given a platform from which they can rearm and regroup. Putin and his cronies will be standing trial in The Hague, and justice will not only be done but will be seen by all, to have been done. Slava Ukraine. Crimea will be your crowning glory. 💙💙💙💛💛💛
