Even me being Dutch the extreme high frequency is only with in the Randstad metropolitan area. I live more with in the country side and we are even lucky of having 1 station.

@Vnifit that does happen also here in the Netherlands. Enough jobs do require you to have a car. Often those are jobs in areas where you just can't get to (safely) with out a car. however a respectable company will in that case help you in ether giving you a company car or a lease car on company. or shared pay. (you only pay if you also use it for private use).

they are also uncommonly big for Dutch standards. However do know they are seen as a two way stairs made with rush hour volume.

@GregVidua well yes and no there is a sea arm in-between, it's those sea arms that makes it all so challenging everything is close by but you always need to cross a bridge, dam or tunnel

@jsb7975 tell you what? that the public transportation is not as frequent in most places in the Netherlands outside of the Randstad?

@alcidesforever not really if we are in luck we get 1 bus a hour during the week and often none in the weekend. Zeeland is really bad with that outside of the tourist season.

@GregVidua the problem where I live is that we are surrounded by a lot of water. that's how most of the entire province of Zeeland is so poorly connected if you compare it with the rest of the Netherlands.
