  5.  @juannaym8488  No it doesn't. A long-term graph of Earth's climate shows that temperature rises occur first and then within a few hundred years CO2 levels go up. CO2 levels rise because of warming that already happened. The oceans warm and give off CO2 as a result, just like a warm soda does. The question we need to be answering is why are the oceans warming. And no, it's not just the sun. The sun doesn't warm water very effectively.

  19.  @Ecution3r  What we contribute to global warming is equivalent to the dust on an ant's butt. A rounding error. The Earth has been warming for the last 12,000 years else many of us would still be under a mile of ice. Was that warming the cavemen's fault?

  21. Also remember that the oceans control the climate on Earth, not the atmosphere. Atmosphere experiences a knock-on effect of what the oceans are doing. I think of it as "weather" means what the atmosphere is doing, "climate" is what the oceans are doing.
