  1. The US, Canada, and Mexico don't depend on maritime shipping to trade with one another and this video was about maritime shipping being shaky. I see no incongruity.

  2. Personally I love the idea of EVs but they are not yet ready for prime time: particularly low range and long charging times. I live in Montana and it would take about six charges to get across just my state and if all goes well that's 6x30 minutes of time spent charging. Plus in a Monatan winter it might take more charges. Sometimes it's said that an idea is ahead of its time. With EVs I think the idea is ahead of the technology. And then there's the problem of not having enough electricity available in the grid because we don't seem to like power plants any more...
