It's like a rich kid whose parents die and leave him a fortune. Rather than building a business that will make generations of his family financially secure he spends it on Ferraris, yachts, cocaine, booze, and women.

We learned it from China.

In the US the homeless have mobile phones so that may not be a good indicator of personal wealth. It's like saying "they have clothes on, they can't be that poor".

"Unt you vil LIKE IT!!!"

The poor are always with you.---J.C.

TDS claims another victim. Maybe we should just make Biden President for life since he's doing such a wonderful job. Bonehead.

Unless you are male and there's a war, then they suddenly notice you.

Saying China is the center of the world is like saying your butthole is the center of your body. Sorry Dave, but I fear your fever is persisting. @davidiom27

I saw one video where the police were arresting debtors. I don't believe China allows bankruptcy. In addition, if you are behind in payments you are blacklisted and can't travel on public transport, or use public services, etc.

All Communism does is establish a giant plantation where the fruits of the labor of the many are funneled upwards into the hands of the few at the top. The many live in grinding poverty and unceasing toil while at the top they eat caviar and buy their mistresses Gucci handbags.

你可能要等很长时间. You might have a long wait.

Wow. That's exactly my thought. China reminds me of a black ant pile when you drop a worm onto it. Ants pushing and shoving and crawling over each other trying to get a mouthful of it. Every time I see a Chinese street scene with hundreds of people walking down the sidewalk they remind me of black ants, interchangeable identical clones of each other. Spooky.

The famous "Grab Hags". I guess dignity has no Chinese language equivalent. @indrekkpringi

I believe in personal choice. If you are ambitious then go for it. If you aren't then don't. No judgement either way. I have spoken to many homeless people and I was surprised that many of them preferred it. No responsibility, no rushing around, no traffic jams on the way to work. People are different. Not everyone wants a mansion and a Ferrari. I don't. I live in a 500 square foot house and drive a 1992 Dodge and I've never been happier. I'd get lost in a mansion and definitely get in legal trouble with a Ferrari. :) @rachelgreen1368

That seems to be what governments do these days. Going from public servants to public masters. And it's happening worldwide at the same time. Makes you wonder if there isn't an agenda being carried out.

"You also need to review China’s allies IRAN IRAQ RUSSIA PALESTINE to mention a few". Reminds me of that old saying "you are known by the company you keep". There's another one too: "bad friends bring bad luck". @BeniWong-g6v

If your Hail-Mary solution is "I know, we'll move to China, it'll be better there!" that shows real desperation. @kamsunleong6648

And COVID death numbers and suicide numbers and...What numbers it does publish smell a lot like ass as in where they were pulled from.

Isn't face similar to "ego"? Ego being that inflated sense of self-worth that you have about yourself and you viciously attack anyone who challenges it. Very different from self-esteem which is gained by performing worthy good acts. Ego is a balloon full of your own hot air and most be protected at all costs.

You are American and misinformed...like most Americans.

Isn't Xi from a farm originally? Maybe he should follow his own advice. @tonysu8860

They are playing ball by Chinese rules which means they win every time. What a fun game. Win-win means China wins twice.

Time calculations...with Chinese characteristics. "You just don't understand China".

Can I talk about Mars if I'm not a Martian?

The authoritarian mindset just can't stay out of people's lives. Letting people have the freedom to spend their money how they want and open businesses if they choose, etc... freedom for the average man just grates on an authoritarian's nerves and they seek any opportunity to squash that freedom. It is a form of mental illness: the ultimate control freak.

Especially with a falling population which will continue to fall into the foreseeable future. Even if all of those unfinished homes were completed they'll still fall in value. Lower population = falling demand = falling real estate prices. China never took Economics 101. @aaroncapricorn5867

And so is Russia's and so is Germany's and so is...all of them. China is just doing it faster. The world has become a game of the last man standing.

Bullshit.

I wonder if it isn't a way to get around the facial recognition software the CCP has everywhere.

I'm here too. But I'm watching for a friend so it's OK. @knownuser0815

I don't know, but when I have a several hour wait in an airport or train station I tend to take off my winter coat, hat, and scarf even in December. But then, I'm not Chinese.

But don't you remove your outdoor clothes when you come indoors? Perhaps I am misunderstanding here. @PunditKING

I actually think they will go along. It seems that throughout China's history the people were always under some despot or another, a warlord, an invader, an emperor, now the CCP. I think they are used to it and just shrug when a new one comes in. Sort of like Americans after every election. "Well, my guy lost", shrug, "better get back to work".
1
That is Xi's plan. He sees the 1950s under Mao as the good old days and wants to return China there. The Great Leap Backward.

There may be some selective bias but the basics are true. Many publications and sources are confirming that China is definitely in economic trouble: Bloomberg, CNBC, Wall Street Journal, many independent financial analysts, etc. Even their own official data show things are slowing down. I just did a Google search for "china economic slowdown" and got articles from CNN, BBC, Reuters, Bloomberg, Time magazine, the Financial Times...

An awful lot of it is in offshore bank accounts and foreign real estate under a CCP member's name. The CCP is looting China. The biggest smash-and-grab in history. @lamentoffalsefacade2.064

Interesting. So Western socialists are propagandizing about Eastern socialists?

Kind of makes you wonder what they have "planned" for the average citizen. @vinegar008

I never understood the whole concept of condos. Why would someone buy an apartment? Aren't apartments only what people live in until they can buy a house and have some privacy and freedom? Sort of "well, it's better than living in a car but we're getting the Hell out of here as soon as we can".

I doubt they are able to fly to China and get current footage for every one of their YouTube videos so stock footage it is. I doubt there are thousands of stock videos titled "busy Chinese train station" to choose from so perhaps these are from the past but they are still useful in illustrating the points made. The average YouTube channel is not a multi-million dollar Hollywood production so they have to use whatever they can find for cheap. Perhaps it would be better if they showed game play footage like some channels. Would that be better?

Shows you just how credible the World Bank is.

It must be. What else could it be? Heat wave in Spain...climate change. Blizzard in Florida...climate change. FTX collapses...climate change. Chinese real estate drops...climate change. My train is late...climate change. The baby fell down the stairs...climate change... @knownuser0815
