I wonder if the CCP isn't intentionally destroying all of the small and medium businesses so that only the very big companies are left, which the Party will then nationalize, at least the ones that they don't already own. I think Xi is a pure Communist and wants to weed out any appearances of capitalism and take China back to the Mao days where everyone is a dedicated Communist (or else) and are as poor as church mice.
