  1. "Liberate" Taiwan? Liberate them from what, freedom? Sort of like what Russia's trying to do in Ukraine? That's like a policeman putting handcuffs on you saying that he was not arresting you, he was "liberating" you.

  2. The best strategy is for Xi to forget about Taiwan and concentrate on China's problems. He reminds me of a man on a sinking ship who is obsessed with getting the water spots off the galley glasses.

  3. In China isn't famine kind of Standard Operating Procedure? If I was running that country my job #1 would be to concentrate on agriculture and get a country that could at least feed itself. China has to import a lot of food each year. In Hitler's Mein Kampf his statement was something like "any nation that cannot feed itself will never be a great power". That's why he wanted Ukraine: it was a huge wheat area and if he could make it part of Germany then Germany could fully feed itself and then be on the road to being a world power. Perhaps Xi should put food first and save the skyscrapers and high-speed trains for later. They're hard to enjoy when you're starving. Vanity, vanity. All is vanity!

  4. I don't think Xi gives a damn about the economy, he's only interested in power. If a world war came and everyone in China was killed but Xi and one Chinese citizen, as long as he was the boss of that person he'd be happy.

  6. I think Xi has the same mindset as Putin. The towns that Russia is "liberating" in Ukraine are totally bomb-blasted ruins...but they still want them. I don't think Xi cares if Taiwan is destroyed. He just wants to plant his flag on the wreckage.
