Comments by "Bob Roberts" (@YourHineyness) on "BYD slashes new EV prices 30% as it creates EPIC EV price war in China" video.
Why are people so obsessed with who is "ahead"? As long as your country is doing well and people are reasonably comfortable and happy does it matter if you are 4th in the world in charging stations? How about 17th in wheat production? 1st in ballpoint pen manufacturing? Save the rabid competition for sports.

America once had over 100 car companies. Over time that reduced to 3, Ford, GM, and Chrysler. What is happening in China is the same thing. The weak companies are falling by the wayside, BYD is cutting their prices in order to speed up their deaths. Business as usual. Eventually there will be a half dozen or so companies left standing.

If I pay $30k, $40k, $50k for a new car I don't want to fix nuthin'. That's why I bought a new car instead of a used one.

The Russians are not at all pleased with Chinese cars.

They may do well in other countries that don't have any domestic car producers. But countries with their own car manufacturers want to protect those companies and the millions of jobs that they provide and so will hit them with tariffs. Tariffs are not meant to just be a meany, they protect your jobs.

Han is the name of the largest ethnic group in China. They are the world's largest ethnic group, making up about 17.5% of the global population and make up 90% of the total population in mainland China.

So, millions died but it's OK because now you can work from home? I'm sure this knowledge will help them feel better in their graves that at least they didn't die for nothing. @onetwothreefour-s1n

You want Australian freedoms with Chinese prices. @alexishart1989

Don't worry mate. The way Australia helps out China you'll one day be a province of China after they take Taiwan and the Philippines, you're next. So keep sending your money to China so they can improve their military and nuclear arsenal. People always complain about big businesses selling out the country for profit but what do ordinary citizens do that's any different?

Musk is a businessman. He has no morals. He'd sell his mother for the right price. He certainly has no trouble sticking his nose up Xi's butt. @P2B_JC

As they should have. @yslee1401

I'm waiting for the Uyghur model. I understand that it will be made by all slave laborers with only one kidney. Sure to become a collector's item!

And yet you complain when other countries do what is best for their countries, such as tariffs. And what's the point of moving a bunch of Chinese to Germany to work in the factories that Germans are now working in only to produce products that aren't cheap. Germans do that now. Does your mother know that you are using her computer? @sarcasmunlimited1570

How about a BYD Tampon...in red, of course? Oops, I meant Tarpon, in blue and silver, of course. Typing is not my forte.

The Japanese have been doing that for some time. The Integra? I'm surprised they don't have the Testicla and the Vagina models by now. It seems to be if it ends in an "A" then it's good. Integra, Sentra, Acura...

True, but compare this year's drop with last year's drop during the New Year and it was much bigger this year. @zhengzeng1515

"You bet. Can't wait to sell out my country to the Commies". Gosh, white people sure are self-hating. I guess the agenda is working.
1
Agree. Let's let the dust settle, let them figure out the best battery materials, and how to afford putting chargers everywhere. EVs are not ready for prime time yet unless you are into bragging rights and woke points. @patay168

Let's hope that they are like large screen TVs that used to cost $3500 but now cost $499.

Were those motors made in China? I bought a small portable fan for my house and it lasted three weeks. Almost burned the place down. Made in China. Pardon me if I'm not eager to buy a Chinese EV. @thyristo

That's what happens when the government starts subsidizing things. People who shouldn't get into the market, get into the market, and then when the subsidies stop we have all of the attendant fallout of people who never should have been in the market in the first place.
